Old Alts (0) v Club AZ (2)

Match report:

Club AZ finally found the win they were looking for as they travelled to Sale to play Old Alts and came away with all three points thanks to goals from Lee Anderson and Lee Manion in each half. Old Alts defended well but offered little punch up front with one solitary effort on goal all they managed in the game. The margin could have been bigger but AZ were just happy to go home with the win as they go above Mary Dendy into fourth .

Prestbury Pull Back a Two Goal Deficit to Share the Points with Mary Dendy
Prestbury twice came from two goals down to earn a draw with Mary Dendy at Great Warford. Prestbury did themselves no favours as they started with nine players and soon fell two goals behind thanks to goals from Ryan Fallon and new signing from Wistaston Athletic Kyle Pirrie . The second half was a different story – Prestbury evened out the numbers and it made a huge difference. The Prestbury team is a real mixture of youth and experience and their movement and fitness really told as they ran Mary Dendy ragged in the second half. Seventeen year old Ross Jones at the back, Jack Pennington and Jordan Gregory in midfield and making his debut upfront after signing from New Mills, Jack Bannister caused all sorts of problems. Ed Price who was coerced into taking the goalkeepers jersey for the home team had little to do but performed with credit.  A Jack Bennington goal brought the deficit to one midway through the second half but eight minutes later Ryan Fallon added his second poking home from close range after Chris Shepherd’s goal bound effort had been cleared off the line following Ian Wood’s corner. This restored Dendy’s two goal lead but was scarcely warranted by their second half performance. Bannister pulled the score back to 3-2 with a great twisting volley and then secured a point from close range. A point wasn’t ideal for either club but Prestbury remain 3rd on eleven points.

Bulls Head manager Stewart Johnston was furious with his players after they rolled over in an 11- 1 mauling at the hands of his former club Poynton Nomads. The visitors had the points in the bag by half time as they led 5-0 but despite a penalty converted by Paul Fairweather in the second half it was more of the same from the visitors as they scored six more. Man of the match Dec Fletcher scored five; Jon McCartney scored four with Anthony Mape and Josh Parmitter completing the scoring. Remarkably it was Nomads first win in the league this season despite some excellent performances.
