League report:

FC Woodford & Mary Dendy Send Signals to Flyers
Mary Dendy kept their 100% league record intact with their second win of the season after an impressive 4-2 win against bogey team Poynton Nomads who they have failed to beat for nearly five seasons home or away. The victory at Bollington Rec was well deserved as they out played their hosts particularly in the second half. The game started well for the visitors as they were awarded a generous penalty after only four minutes when captain Dan Allman appeared to wrestle Ryan Fallon to the floor as he received the ball just inside the penalty area from Matty Martin’s long throw. Martin Brunker stepped up and put the ball low past keeper Dom Hadfield to give Dendy the lead. Nomads didn’t stay behind for long, Jon McCartney unleashing an unstoppable shot into the top corner five minutes later. Dec Fletcher made it 2-1 midway through the half as he turned defender Gareth Worrall one way then the other and fired a shot low past Matt Robinson . It was Dendy’s turn to come from behind and on twenty five minutes Ryan Fallon caught Jon Blissett in possession midway inside Nomads half and sprinted towards goal unleashing a stinging shot from 20 yards that Hadfield could only parry into the path of Joe Ragdale who gratefully poked home the equaliser.
Dendy made two changes at half time but the second half began much like the first with Dan Allman again hauling Fallon to the ground after only three minutes and referee Derek Scott awarding Dendy a second penalty. Martin Brunker looked nervous as he stepped up and put the ball way over the bar. It was perhaps poetic justice as Fallon later admitted his fall had been a little theatrical. He did however make amends on the hour mark giving Dendy a 3-2 lead with a strong run and shot that beat Dom Hadfield from twenty yards. Nomads had brought on Anthony Mape for Josh Parmitter upfront but his presence had little effect as he saw little of the ball as man of the match and Dendy captain Steve Rowlands continually broke up play in the middle of the park and he got his reward in the dying minutes with another shot from distance that fizzed past Dom Hadfield to make the final score 4-2.

FC Woodford went goal crazy and consolidated second place as they put Bulls Head Poynton to the sword in their derby game at Woodford Rec. Four goals down by half time Bulls Head gave themselves a fleeting chance of getting back in the match when Stewart Johnston curled in a spectacular effort from 25 yards to make it 4-1 but it went almost un- noticed by Woodford as they accelerated away scoring eight second half goals to record their biggest win of the season by some considerable margin. Jack Butterworth led the scoring with four, Eddie Roberts and Tom Darcy scored two a-piece and the rout was complete with goals from Alex Jackson, Scott Wright, Josh Roberts and an own goal.

Prestbury and Old Alts shared the spoils after a 1-1 draw at Mary Dendy Fields. Jordan Jackson gave the visitors the lead in the first half but John Slater equalised from the spot after a foul on Alex Rottenbury.
