I am not sure what game the guy who wrote this match report was at, but it certainly wasn't how I saw it...
"Poynton Nomads will be wondering how they didn’t come away with all three points after dominating large parts of their game against second placed Old Alts. Surprisingly Alts led 2-0 at half time with midfielder Dean Duignan powering his way through scoring twice but Nomads new young signing Josh Parmitter got the home side back in the match with a superbly taken free kick from 25 yards early in the second half. Another new signing, possibly playing his last match for Jonny Blissett’s team before returning to university in London was Matt Stoten . He was instrumental in Nomads’ dominance and thought he had set up the winner for Jake Lodge in the final minutes after John McCartney had levelled the scores at 2-2 but with the goal gaping Lodge managed to sky the ball over the bar from four yards out when it appeared easier to score. Alts were relieved at the final whistle and remain second on four points."

A fantastic start to the season for the new look Old Alts Fc with a 7-0 win over the new look High Lane. A great all round team performance saw Old Alts dominate the game reducing High Lane to long distance shots and half chances. This has been our best start to a season in recent years and with the merger of both the Old Alts teams gelling well we have high hopes for this season.
"Old Alts had their best start to a season in many a year crushing High Lane 7-0 at Crossford Bridge. High Lane who have several players who double up playing cricket had no excuses though. The match was as good as over by half time with Alts four goals up and they added three more in the second half just for good measure. Dale Peters led the scoring with four and Dean Duignan, Mike Pascal and Paul Davidson were also on target."Source: theFA.com

All change at Old Alts.
The new season has brought some big changes at Old Alts, for the first time in recent years Old Alts A and Old Alts East have merge. The rivalry between the 2 side has been plain to see, however with the merger of the 2 side all this has been put to one side and this was nicely illustrated with a fine 5-1 win against Prestbury FC. We have been working hard during pre-season so we can be fit and ready for the start of the season. Our first game is against High Lane, these boys are a good footballing side but are prone to the odd dodgy day. If we make the game a battle and frustrate High Lane we could start the season with a win.
