"lightening fast Alts striker Dale Peters"

Poynton Nomads must be wondering what might have been had Stuart Johnston not missed most of the season with injury- once again he was right at the heart of all that was positive in Nomads play providing two assists , both from free-kicks and instrumental in another solid Nomads performance as they beat Old Alts A 4-1 . Jon Blissett got his fifth goal of the season from centre half as he opened the scoring, powering home a header at the far post from Johnson’s free kick but lightening fast Alts striker Dale Peters levelled the score as he raced on to a ball over the top of the home defence. Tom Gaskell then restored Nomads lead, cutting inside and drilling the ball across the Alts keeper to make it 2-1. Nish Joshi helped himself to a third goal in the second half courtesy of another Johnson assist and substitute Anthony Mape boosted his hope of a place in the starting line-up as he scored within minutes of coming on.

Old Alts (0) v (1) Poynton Kings
KO: 14:00
At Crossford Bridge

At Crossford Bridge it was Poynton Kings who took the points after a very even contest with Old Alts A. There was nothing between them until ten minutes from time when pressure from Scott Wright forced Alts to put through their own net to seal victory for Kings by the narrowest of margins.
